Job Description

What’s in it for you?

  • Good, steady workflow. You’ll be working on proper leasing matters (not cookie cutter work) with a mix of new leases, negotiations and ongoing advisory.
  • You’ll have real client contact. You won’t be hidden behind a Partner, you’ll be across the detail and dealing directly with clients.
  • The team is genuinely nice. Collaborative, no ego and people who are happy to pick up the phone and help.
  • Flexibility is normal here. They care about doing good work, not being seen at your desk for the sake of it.
  • They invest in their people. Strong parental leave support, wellbeing initiatives and training that’s actually useful.

About your new employer:

  • Our client is a well regarded independent Australian firm with a genuinely strong Real Estate practice in Melbourne.
  • Strong client base across landlords, developers, operators and institutional owners, with plenty of interesting leasing work coming through.
  • Recognised as one of AFR’s Best Places to Work 2024 & 2025, with flexibility and support that’s genuinely part of the culture.

About the role:

Play a key role in a busy Real Estate practice, advising across a broad range of leasing matters, including:

  • Retail leasing, renewals, variations, assignments and negotiations.
  • Portfolio leasing support for landlords and asset managers.
  • Project and development leasing for retail and mixed-use sites.
  • Drafting and negotiating leases and related documentation.
  • Direct client engagement and day-to-day matter management.

The ideal candidate:

  • 5+ years’ PQE and a strong leasing background (retail preferred).
  • Excellent drafting skills and sharp attention to detail.
  • Strong client relationship and stakeholder management capability.
  • The ability to manage priorities, deadlines and competing workflows.
  • Clear, professional communication skills (written and verbal).

An interest in mentoring and supporting junior team members
